Testimonal #2 for Sitron-Hammel Radiology on Long Island

Dear Dr. Hammel and Dr. Sitron:

I have to thank you for the excellent service I have always received from you and your staff. The service is always superb, but my last visit was even more outstanding. My most recent visit was last week.

Since my mother died of breast cancer, and I am of European Jewish extraction, having my mammograms and sonograms is fraught with emotion. It’s not something I look forward to although as my records show, I’m good about getting it done. In part, this is because of your staff.

When I came in last week during the craziness of a snowstorm and your renovations, everyone behind the counter was just as patient and kind as always. A woman with long back hair made a gentle joke as she dealt with me and a young man who didn’t know his medical number or much of anything. She was exceedingly kind and patient. I didn’t wait long before having a CAT scan (I have a sinus infection), which went quickly and easily.

Then I went for my mammograms and discovered that my prescription was incorrect. It was written for a bilateral test but because of recent surgery, my right breast cannot be compressed. The woman who was going to do the mammograms kindly called downstairs to Dr. Weiss, but they had left for the day. It was only 2:00 and your staff was going strong, but Dr. Weiss had closed. This lovely woman calmed me down by telling me that our birthdays are one day apart and that she had been a flight attendant. She then took it upon herself to speak with Dr. Hammel who simply corrected the script so I could get the mammograms. And so I did.

Then another lovely woman did the sonograms. She is my daughter’s age and we chatted happily as she did the test.

I am intentionally not naming the people who helped me because I’d like you to think that all your staff is just as good as these few women. It has been my experience that they are all wonderful. During the many years that I have been coming to your practice, I’ve never had a curt or incompetent staff member. On the contrary: each one is top-notch.

You’re doing a wonderful job helping us stay healthy. Your great staff encourages me to come back when I’m supposed to, even though I dread the visits. For this and all your kindness, I thank you all.
